We Are Engaged

Noah and I spent a few days in Newport Beach and I am so excited to say that we are engaged! I put some pictures of the ring below these pictures I took on our mini vacation. These two shots were taken at the Newport Dunes, which was next to the hotel we stayed at. We had a wonderful trip and the weather was so nice!

Noah and I are officially engaged as of Tuesday this week! He is so wonderful and I am so lucky! He gave me this beautiful ring.

My Day

I had a wonderful day today! I hung out at Noah's house and we played Scrabble and watched the movie "Taken." It was a pretty good movie! I won by one point at Scrabble. I was also able to go out and take some pictures. I was able to take some self portraits somewhere other than my house! That was great!

Noah and I spent the day at the beach! We stayed late to take pictures of the sunset! It was a wonderful day!

Tree Hugger

More self portraits that I took yesterday.  I wish I had some models to use for my portrait ideas, but models I have none.  Lately, I have been coming up with lots of portrait ideas, but I am frustrated because I have no models.  I like being behind the camera way more than posing in front of it.

However, I like doing self portraits because I get to dress up, which I don't really do.  But, I feel so weird posing in pictures.  I take the pictures when I am home alone because I am way to shy to take them when anyone else is home.  I don't think my family knows that I take self portraits like these.  They know I love photography, but they haven't seen any of these shots.

Our Perfect Sunday

Sunday was a great day!  I spent the day with Noah, our cameras, and the best iced tea.  We hung out outside in the nice warm weather and took some pictures with the tripod.  Noah got some shots of me that I actually kind of liked.

Make-Up Artist Photo Shoot

I had another chance to work with models this week.  Other photographers and myself shot some pictures for some make up artists who are building their portfolios.  The make up artists put all the looks together, we just took the pictures.  We did the shoot in Long Beach and it was windy and freezing, but it was fun.  I posted one shot from each of the make up artists.

Thursday

I am really excited about photography today!  I have been thinking a lot about it this week.  I might have the chance to participate in another shoot with some models next week, which sounds like a lot of fun.  

Also, I found out about a contest on deviantart that I am also excited about.  I have an idea for a picture that I have been thinking a lot about.  I am looking for a location and I will be ordering a dress to wear in the picture.  I would rather use a model, but I am not sure if I will find one.  I am excited to start this project once all the detail come together.  

I also got a new tripod since my other one broke.  And I got some lens covers for all of my lenses except my lensbaby.

Mums

I took these shots in manual mode on my camera.  I actually like the way they came out.  Other times when I have tried to shoot in manual mode, my shots came out extremely over or underexposed.  I really like the lighting in these shots too.  They were taken in front of my bedroom window, so most of the light is coming from behind, but there was enough light in the front, so I didn't get a silhouette of the flowers.

I like these three shots because they are straight from my camera and I didn't do any editing.  I like the lighting and they didn't come out over exposed.

SoCal Photo Shoot Out-1

I recently joined this photography group on facebook and on Saturday a bunch of photographers and models met up for a photo shoot.  It was fun.  This was the first one I went to one of these events and was my first time working with models.  I think my shots came out okay for my first time.  I would love to work with models again.  Here are some shots of one of the models.  I will post more later.

I love spring time in California.  Millions of these wild flowers pop up everywhere!  

Forest Falls, California

My boyfriend and I went hiking on Saturday in Forest Falls.  It was nice and it was good exercise. I love being outside surrounded by nature.
